Paving set for the I-10 near Benson

10/24/12 - The Arizona Department of Transportation continues working on a $4.2 million project to repave 14 miles of westbound I-10 from the east end of Texas Canyon to the east side of Benson next week.

As of yesterday Tuesday, Oct. 23, crews will be completing guardrail work and filling cracks in the pavement along the shoulders of the 14-mile segment of westbound Interstate 10, east of Benson.

In addition, crews will continue to pave westbound I-10 between mileposts 307 and 322 between Tuesday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 26.

Intermittent lane closures will be in effect from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily through Friday, Oct 26. Message boards will alert approaching motorists of the lane closures and the posted speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph through the project area.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
