I-10 crash south of Phoenix injures 8, restricts lanes

At least eight people were injured and both directions of Interstate 10 were restricted after a single vehicle crash occurred in the Gila River Indian Reservation, Saturday morning, officials said.
The crash happened around 10:45 a.m. at Milepost 166, south of Queen Creek Road, and involved a semi truck, according to authorities. Traffic at the scene was stopped so responders could land a medical helicopter, officials from the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
At least injured one person was transported from the scene as immediate, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. Seven other people also sustained injures, but their severity is unknown, fire officials said.
Only one westbound lane was open and significant delays in both directions were expected to last at least into the afternoon, authorities said
