Eastbound lanes on Interstate 10 reopened after deadly crash

07/16/13 - Interstate 10 has reopened near U.S. 60 at Baseline Road in Tempe after an early morning fatal crash shutdown eastbound lanes.

All lanes of eastbound I-10 had been closed Tuesday morning as road crews worked to clear the wreckage from a single-car crash in the left shoulder that left one dead, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Eastbound U.S. 60 had been backed up for several miles, and traffic was diverted off of the I-10 at the U.S. 60 ramps.

The freeway was reopened just after 7 a.m.

The Arizona Department of Transportation anticipates extensive delays, and cautions traffic heading to the East Valley to use eastbound Loop 202 to southbound Loop 101, which connects to the U.S. 60.
