DPS: Motorcyclist killed in Interstate 10 crash

02/14/14 - Department of Public Safety officials say a 32-year-old man lost his life after losing control of his motorcycle Thursday night.

DPS spokesman Bart Graves said the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 10 westbound at Dysart Road.

Graves said the motorcyclist was trying to get around a pickup in front of him when he lost control of his bike and hit the back of a van in another lane.

Graves said the man was thrown approximately 30 feet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

I-10 westbound was closed for about two hours while authorities investigated.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
