04/16/14 - A woman drove the wrong way on Interstate 10 Tuesday night and hit two other vehicles, sending both herself and another person to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Department of Public Safety spokesman Raul Garcia said.
The woman driving a passenger car entered Interstate 10 westbound driving the correct way on the Warner Road on-ramp at about 11 p.m., he said. But she made a U-turn and ended up driving the wrong way near the HOV lanes of eastbound I-10, Garcia said.
She crashed into a semitruck and another passenger vehicle, Garcia said. The wrong-way driver and a person from the passenger vehicle were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.
The truck driver did not have any injuries, he said.
Officials are still investigating whether the wrong-way driver was impaired, Garcia said.
The road was was closed intermittently from 11 p.m. to 5:45 a.m., he said.
