I-10 west of Phoenix reopened after serious-injury crash this weekend

07/14/14 - All westbound lanes on Interstate 10 have been reopened after a collision Saturday morning blocked traffic near Buckeye, according to Department of Public Safety officials.

DPS officials said at least two vehicles were involved in the crash around 8 a.m. on I-10 near the Verrado exit in Lower Buckeye. Serious injuries were reported.

DPS said one of the vehicles had crossed from the eastbound side to the westbound side. No other details were provided.

Westbound traffic at Verrado Way reopened around 10:30 a.m., but traffic remained slow because of the backup, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Eastbound lanes were unaffected by the crash and were open, ADOT added.
