19-year-old arrested in deadly I-10 crash

12/15/14 - An arrest has been made following a deadly crash Friday morning on the I-10, The Department of Public Safety says.

A 19-year-old driver in the one-vehicle crash was arrested after being released from the hospital Sunday, a news release reported Monday. The crash closed eastbound lanes of I-10 at US 60 after the car slammed into the median .

DPS confirmed five people were in the car at the time and 16-year-old Davonna Crouch, a passenger, was killed.

The crash caused serious delays into the afternoon. DPS says the 19 year old is facing one count of second-degree murder, three counts of aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument, one count of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury and one count of endangerment. It is not yet clear whether impairment was a factor in the crash.
