Interstate 10 closed crash near Quartzite

07/11/15 - The Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal rear-end collision involving four commercial vehicles near Quartzsite that left eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 closed Saturday morning.

At 5:39 a.m., a commercial truck-tractor pulling a semi-trailer failed to slow down for congested traffic related to a wrong-way fatal collision.

The driver of the commercial vehicle who failed to slow down was killed in the accident. Traffic is being detoured onto US 60 eastbound, located at milepost 31 on I-10. Drivers are then being routed to Vicksburg Road, which intersects with I-10 at milepost 46.
