Interstate 10 eastbound reopens south of Phoenix

Interstate 10 eastbound closed south of Phoenix Multiple crashes have closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Riggs Road, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Eastbound traffic must exit at Riggs Road. There is no estimated time to reopen the highway. Significant delays are expected and drivers should delay travel or use an alternate route.

Drivers may take State Route 347 south to Interstate 8 east to reconnect with I-10. East Valley drivers may consider using State Route 87 south to State Route 587 south to reconnect with I-10 near Casa Blanca Road.

Tim Case with the Arizona Department of Public Safety says this is a three vehicle injury collision that is currently blocking all lanes on eastbound Interstate 10 at milepost 171.

Three people have been transported to hospitals with injuries that are not life threatening.
