Another fatal collision slowing traffic on I-10 near Picacho Peak

06/15 - Another fatality on the I-10 freeway in Arizona.

This is just another example of why the I-10 freeway has been considered the deadliest highway in America.

There are too many cases of people losing their lives on this dangerous highway.

A fatal single vehicle accident on westbound I-10 at milepost 221 near Picacho Peak has backed up traffic for about several miles.

Arizona Department of Public Safety official Quentin Mehr says the collision happened around 2:40 p.m.

According to Mehr, a vehicle was traveling eastbound on I-10 when the 78-year-old driver lost control.

She ran through the median onto the westbound side of I-10 and rolled her vehicle. Both eastbound and westbound I-10 are restricted to one lane in the area of the collision.
