Ahwatukee wrong-way crash: Driver identified in deadly I-10 crash

12/15/16 - DPS said as of January 2016, 1,600 wrong-way incidents have been reported to the organization. Of those, 27 resulted in injuries or casualties. There have been over 100 drivers arrested on suspicion of impairment in wrong-way incidents.
  1. Two questions:
  2. Why do these keep happening?
  3. What is the DPS doing (if anything)?
The DPS says they it continues to “investigate” these rashes and what to do. Well, while we are waiting, 1,600 wrong-way incidents have been reported to the organization.
People are getting hurt.  People are dying.  Something needs to be done.  California enacted measure in 1985 --  thirty-one years ago, that have reduced these incidents by more than 50%.
