Deadly crash closes WB I-10 at 339th Avenue

7/6/2017 - The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a deadly crash closed westbound Interstate 10 west of the Valley.
According to DPS, a double-trailer semi truck and another truck crashed around 1:50 a.m. Thursday near 339th Avenue. Information from the scene suggests the semi truck rear-ended a pickup truck, causing the pickup to roll. The driver of the pickup was ejected and killed, and the pick-up caught fire.
The driver of the semi was reportedly taken to the hospital for breathing problems, officials say.
Westbound traffic is blocked for the crash investigation with only one lane getting through now. The Arizona Department of Transportation says traffic can exit at 339th Avenue and re-enter the freeway at Indian School Road.
